August 24 Contest

Time for another contest! Here's our themes:

Round 1: Labor Day Weekend is upon us... Let's Go CAMPING! Show me your favorite camping attire - whether it's for hiking, swimming in the lake, or just hanging out by the bonfire.

Round 2: HOMECOMING dance. School is starting up and Homecoming is right around the corner. What will you wear for the first dance of the year?

Round 3: Hey cowgirl! Strap on some spurs and strut your duds in some WESTERN wear.

Round 4: BOOK club isn't just about reading - it's ladies night out - in the living room! Wine, cheese, chocolate, conversation, and meeting new friends. What will you wear?

Round 5: Yipes STRIPES! Show off your best striped outfit.

Round 6: Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraising Gala. Don't forget to add some PINK!

Thank you everyone who played. I had a great time seeing what everyone submitted and putting all the pictures together. And even though it took up way to much time (that I should have spent making dinners, cleaning the house, and paying bills), I can't wait for the next contest. August 3 Contest

Woohoo! It's here!
Officially, contest day is tomorrow - but if you're reading this post now, we will begin accepting your entries today!

For anyone new to avatar fashion contests, you play by dressing up your avatar with whatever you have in
your closet to match the theme. (Or you can buy new clothes if you want.) Kind of like going to a theme party. Post on my wall (Purr Mew Pounce) when you are ready for the party and I will take a picture of your avatar. I will post "pic taken" on your wall when you can move onto the next round. When all the contestants have had their avatar's picture taken, the judges will score them and award First, Second, and Third place for best outfit.

So here are the themes:

Round 1: You're a ROCKSTAR - dress like you own the stage! Post "rockstar" when ready.

Round 2: TEA with the queen - Ultra conservative, yet ultra high fashion. Think Princess Di or Princess Kate going out for lunch... How do I get an invite to that?! Post "tea" when ready.

Round 3: BEACH party! Sun, wind, volleyball, cute surfer guys, a cover band, fruity drinks served in a coconut shell... you get the picture. Post "beach" when ready.

Round 4: BLIND date. Hmmm: What do you wear when you don't even know if you want him to like you or not? Post "blind" when ready.

Round 5: Uh oh! You end up in the worst dressed list at the Hollywood red carpet party! If you're gonna bomb - BOMB big!! Dress in your tackiest, most cliche threads and smile big for the camera. Post "bomb" when ready.

Round 6: Hollywood Red Carpet Review - strut your stuff in your best red carpet glam for the paparazzi and make sure you end up in the BEST dressed magazine review! Post "best" when ready.

Reving Up for Our First "Best Ever" Contest!

We've got 12 contestants so far for this weekend's avatar fashion contest. That's a great start! We could really use a few more in the level 30-60 category, so if you know anyone who may be interested please pass along my StormID or this blog link.

One of the other judges and I are trying to narrow down theme ideas to a reasonable amount of rounds... I think about 6 rounds is good. What do you think? Maybe we should have a contest to come up with the best fashion theme ideas. If you have any ideas please leave a comment and we'll use it!

While looking around on boutique walls last night I saw a contest theme called "Fruit or Food - dress like a food and write what it is." One of the entries was "Banana Split!" So creative - both the theme idea and the entry - I love it!!
